Scope of Project:
This Arthur Silverman piece was originally installed in a mechanically brightened condition and unpainted. The owner, with the blessing of the sculptor, decided to have the sculpture painted the appropriate color in accordance with the artist's original conception. The piece was heavily stained and in need of restoration/conservation treatment. The surface was thoroughly cleaned and lightly sanded to prepare the surface for primer appropriate for aluminum surfaces. After curing the primer was lightly scuffed and coats of the permanent color were applied.
